Woodrow W. “Woody” Willard Jr. serves as a senior broker in the Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina, office of Newmark Wilson Kibler, where he focuses on the sale and leasing of land, manufacturing, distribution and office properties.
For 40 years, Mr. Willard has been a problem solver for entities that choose to invest in real property assets. A licensed broker and certified appraiser in South Carolina, he specializes in representing buyers in private acquisitions and corporate expansions. Some of his projects include the assemblage and acquisition of more than 900 acres for the expansion of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport; the acquisition of 20 parcels abutting the BMW Manufacturing Plant; the acquisition of 10-plus parcels for the construction of the BMW test tract in Greer, South Carolina; the acquisition of 30 parcels to provide the South Carolina Ports Authority with rail access to the Duncan Inland Port; and the acquisition of 275 parcels for the expansion of Wofford College Campus in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In addition to his property assemblages and acquisitions, Mr. Willard manages the sale of wetland and stream mitigation credits for the Arrowhead Farms Mitigation Bank in the Enoree River basin in upstate South Carolina.
Mr. Willard has successfully completed valuation assignments for a broad range of property types, including residential, retail, office and distribution warehouse facilities in the Spartanburg market. Mr. Willard provides expert analysis, testimony and legal consultation for eminent domain and detrimental conditions assignments, specifically in underground fuel storage tank events. He has provided expert witness testimony on numerous occasions in Circuit Civil Court in over 20 counties throughout South Carolina in his career.
Mr. Willard currently serves on the Commission for the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Appointed in 2014 by the Legislative Delegations of Greenville and Spartanburg counties in the 4th Congressional District, Mr. Willard served as the commission chairman in 2017. Working closely with its Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Willard advised legislators as to the need for increased road and bridge funding for South Carolina. He is currently playing a key role in reshaping the commission with respect to its duties and working relationship with the Secretary. In February 2018, Governor Henry McMaster reappointed Mr. Willard to the SCDOT Commission for another four years.
In 2014, the South Carolina Supreme Court appointed Mr. Willard a lay member on the Commission on Lawyer Conduct, a position he continues to hold. In 2001, Governor Jim Hodges recognized Mr. Willard as an Ambassador for Economic Development in South Carolina.

Mr. Willard earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College.
